“Mkue Serious”: Mama Jimmy Launches Lucrative Business in US, Urges Support

Digital Creators Mama Jimmy and Baba Jimmy.

US-based Kenyan TikToker Mama Jimmy has unveiled a new venture she hopes will thrive in her adopted home. Known for sharing snippets of her life since relocating to America with her husband and two children in 2024, she is now turning her creativity into a business.

In her latest TikTok video, Mama Jimmy introduced a range of home décor products made from African print fabrics. These include curtains, table mats, and wall hangings. She explained her approach to building trust with buyers by showcasing the products while wearing similar prints herself. “When you open a factory for vitenges, you also wear them so people can trust your business. We have table mats, big and small wall decorations, and curtains. You know, we are currently building. When our house is ready, I will decorate it for you to see. Guys, I am asking you to support me; those in the US, come support me and be serious,” she said.

What Is Mama Jimmy Selling in the US?

Each item comes with clear pricing, and she has been offering discounts for customers purchasing multiple pieces. Her shift to African print designs follows a successful farming project, where she sold out after planting and harvesting traditional Kenyan vegetables.

How Are Fans Reacting to Mama Jimmy’s Venture?

Reactions online have been diverse. Some encouraged her to market in English to reach a broader audience in the US. @Lisa commented, “Advertise in English, dear, so you can reach a wider audience where you are.” Others applauded her creativity, with @Charlotte Sharon saying, “Uko na vitu poa sana Mama Jimmy, congratulations.” Supportive notes continued to pour in, like @Mwalimu wa TikTok’s, “Nice, keep going, mama.”

For many of her followers, Mama Jimmy’s journey reflects a determination to make the most of opportunities abroad. While some joked that in Kenya she might still be living a quieter life in the village, her business moves in the US have inspired admiration. As one fan put it, “Mama Jimmy is right, wazungu wanapenda vitu vya ajabu.”

Her message is simple: embrace African culture, support local creativity, and as she boldly put it, “Mkue serious.”
