Salasya Shares Spiritual Moment After Joining Prophet Owuor Crusade in Nakuru

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya meets Prophet David Owuor.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya joined thousands of worshippers at Prophet David Owuor’s end-of-year crusade held at Technology Farm in Nakuru, an event that brought together believers from across the country for days of prayer and spiritual reflection. The gathering, organised by the Repentance and Holiness Ministry, marked the climax of a series of prayer meetings and a pastors’ conference that had been taking place in the city.

Salasya later shared his experience publicly, using his Instagram platform on Friday, January 2, 2025, to express gratitude for being part of the crusade. He described the meeting as deeply impactful and centred his message on the themes of faith, reverence, and spiritual wisdom that were emphasised throughout the service.

“The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. So blessed to attend the pastors’ conference of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry in Nakuru. Am blessed,” Salasya shared on his Instagram.

His attendance did not go unnoticed during the event. Prophet David Owuor acknowledged the presence of the Mumias East legislator in front of the large congregation, drawing attention to their long-standing relationship that dates back to Salasya’s days as a student leader at Egerton University. In a moment that stood out to many in attendance, Salasya knelt as the preacher prayed for him, offering words of blessing directed at his leadership and political future.

“The highest leader in this country has visited us, I want to give him the microphone to greet you. You will always be my son before you are a politician. You were at Egerton University as a student leader. I must bless you eterneally here today. “Let me bless you political career and you will see what will happen,” Prophet Owuor stated.

Why did Salasya’s appearance at the Nakuru crusade attract attention?

The public prayer and acknowledgment sparked conversations both online and offline, especially among young Kenyans who closely follow Salasya’s political journey and outspoken personality. His presence at the crusade highlighted the intersection between faith and leadership, a topic that continues to resonate strongly within the country’s social and political spaces.

The Nakuru crusade itself was a major religious event, drawing massive crowds over several days. Worshippers filled Technology Farm as prayers, worship sessions, and sermons focused on repentance, holiness, and national renewal took centre stage. Pastors from different regions of Kenya also attended a dedicated conference held alongside the main crusade, reinforcing the scale and organisation of the gathering.

Beyond the spiritual atmosphere, the event had a visible effect on Nakuru town. Surrounding areas experienced increased activity as visitors arrived in large numbers, with transport, accommodation, and local businesses seeing heightened movement during the crusade period. Such gatherings have become familiar in towns that host Prophet Owuor’s meetings, which are widely known for attracting large turnouts.

For Salasya, the moment appeared to carry both personal and public significance. His decision to share the experience on social media reflected a sense of gratitude and alignment with the message delivered at the event. The emphasis on the fear of God and wisdom echoed themes that many young leaders and followers continue to engage with, particularly in a time when public accountability and moral grounding are widely debated.

Prophet Owuor’s crusades remain among the most attended religious events in Kenya, consistently drawing national attention. Salasya’s attendance and the prayer offered over him added a notable political presence to the Nakuru gathering, reinforcing the ongoing influence of faith-based events in shaping public conversations across the country.
