Baba Talisha Defends Himself After Accusations of Using Brian Chira’s Money

Kenyan content creator Baba Talisha has publicly defended himself after a netizen accused him of enjoying a flashy lifestyle using money raised in honour of the late TikToker Brian Chira. The exchange unfolded on Facebook on Friday, January 2, 2026, and quickly drew attention across social media, reopening conversations about online fundraisers, accountability, and the pressure placed on public figures.

The accusation came from Allan Ouma Wabwire, who commented on one of Baba Talisha’s posts with the statement “Umepiga luku na pesa ya Chira,” a Sheng phrase loosely translated to mean that he was living large using Chira’s money. The comment triggered an emotional response from Baba Talisha, who chose to address the issue head-on rather than ignore it.

What did Baba Talisha say in response to the accusation?

Baba Talisha responded with a detailed and strongly worded rebuttal, accusing Allan of persistently targeting him in his comment sections. He described the netizen as someone who regularly visits his page to provoke and discredit him without justification.

“This guy is ever on my page to trash me daily,” Baba Talisha wrote.

He went on to challenge Allan to provide proof of any financial contribution he may have made to the fundraiser. Baba Talisha stated that if Allan could confirm how much he donated, the money would be refunded “mara elfu moja,” meaning a thousand times over. According to him, the accusation was especially hurtful because it came from someone he claims never supported the fundraiser in the first place.

Baba Talisha also expressed frustration over the constant scrutiny of his personal life. He explained that people online now question everything about him, including how he dresses, where he lives, and whether he has the right to own property or build a home. He noted that these judgments are often based on assumptions rather than verified facts, making it difficult for him to live freely without being accused of wrongdoing.

Why did Baba Talisha stop participating in public fundraisers?

In the same exchange, Baba Talisha revealed that the ongoing harassment and accusations were the main reasons he decided to stop taking part in public fundraising efforts. He explained that even when contributions are made with good intentions, the environment around online fundraisers can quickly turn hostile.

“That is why I stopped michango,” he stated, referring to public contributions.

He further shared that attempts to block Allan’s account had not been successful, leaving him exposed to repeated attacks in the comment sections of his posts. This, he said, has made social media an increasingly uncomfortable space despite his efforts to remain transparent and focused on his work.

The online exchange has since sparked mixed reactions. Some social media users came out in support of Baba Talisha, urging critics to present evidence before making serious claims. Others argued that transparency is essential whenever public funds are involved, especially when contributors feel emotionally invested.

Brian Chira’s death had earlier brought together content creators and fans in a rare moment of unity, with many demanding clarity around the circumstances of his passing. At the time, several conflicting narratives circulated online, fueling confusion and speculation. Against that backdrop, accusations surrounding funds raised in his name remain a sensitive issue.
