Content creator Mitchelle, popularly known as Mjaka Mfine, has addressed the controversy linking her to Lang’ata MP Jalang’o after her missing iPhone saga spiraled into online chatter.
The drama began when Mitchelle lost her phone during a campus event. Shortly after, she noticed someone trying to sell a similar iPhone model online at a lower price. The seller, identified as Cedo, became the center of her accusations. She insisted that he present the phone to the police. Matters escalated when Jalang’o phoned Cedo, accusing him of theft, which prompted Cedo’s mother, the actual phone owner, to intervene. This involvement immediately raised questions about the legislator’s connection to the situation.
Why Did Jalang’o Get Involved?
Responding to netizens who asked, “How did Jalang’o get into this mix?”, Mitchelle laughed and admitted that his participation had drawn unexpected attention. She explained that she had exhausted other options before reaching out to him.
“Anyway, I reached out to most DCI officers and other prominent people for help after the cops said they could not trace my phone. I called several people whom I thought might have links to help me,” she said. According to her, some never picked up, while others said they could not assist. “That is when I decided to seek help from Jalang’o, assuming that he maybe had connections. I sent him the guy’s number, and we contacted him; the three of us were on the call.”
Mitchelle stressed that at no point did they issue threats. “I have recordings of the phone call and text messages from our conversation,” she clarified.
What Is Her Relationship with Jalang’o?
As rumors swirled online suggesting the MP funds her lifestyle, Mitchelle dismissed the claims. “Now I am surprised that people claim that he funds my lifestyle. I, who still depend on my parents, just because I asked for help.”
Despite her attempts to clarify, Mitchelle admitted that the backlash has been overwhelming. “The hate had become too much, yet I had done nothing wrong,” she added.
