Kenyan singer Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, have confirmed that their much-anticipated wedding is finally happening, and it will be anything but ordinary. Speaking on Thursday, September 26, Bahati revealed that the celebrations will span 10 days, with multiple ceremonies bringing together high-profile guests from across Africa’s entertainment and political circles.
“It is not a ceremony, there are ceremonies, and they will last for 10 days,” Bahati explained. He even teased fellow artist Juma Jux, saying, “I took notes, but I want to teach him something.” According to the singer, the celebrations will be on a grand scale, with different events planned across the 10 days. He even gave a playful warning to guests: “If invited, get ready because you will need around 20 outfits.”
When asked if Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz would be in attendance, Bahati confirmed it with confidence. “I also want him to learn a few things because I am marrying before him. It will have the who’s who of Africa’s entertainment scene and politics,” he added.
Diana Marua, while keeping some details under wraps, admitted that planning such a massive event has been both overwhelming and surreal. “For me, it is unreal, I pinch myself every day. The thought of planning this is overwhelming and exciting,” she said. While she refrained from giving away too much, she promised fans that “it will be a never-before-seen wedding.”
The announcement immediately set social media buzzing. Many fans flooded the comments with excitement and curiosity. @real_cheche_music joked, “Did Bahati really pay the debt to Harambee Stars?” while @_m.a.n.u.s.t.a.y wondered, “Is there food during those 10 days?” Others shared heartfelt congratulations, with @Vallary974 saying, “Wow, I can’t wait. Congratulations, the Bahatis,” and @mercyotengo6415 adding, “More grace to this humble couple, I love them.”
With Bahati promising an unforgettable 10-day affair and Diana hinting at surprises yet to be revealed, their wedding is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events in Kenya’s celebrity scene.
