Kyalo Mbobu Murder: DCI Questions Suspects Who Met Lawyer Hours before His Death

Lawyer Kyalo Mbobu held a series of meetings just hours before his brutal murder on Tuesday, September 9, raising critical leads for investigators. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed that individuals who met with him earlier in the day have been taken in for questioning, and their vehicles have been impounded.

Mbobu was gunned down by armed assailants along Magadi Road while driving home. The attackers, riding on a motorbike, ambushed him and left him with multiple gunshot wounds before fleeing the scene.

Who are the suspects in Kyalo Mbobu’s murder?

According to Citizen Digital, detectives impounded two vehicles linked to the suspects and detained two senior officials who were driving them. Both men are believed to have met Mbobu at the Sarget Hotel between 11 am and 1:15 pm on the same day he was killed. Investigators are now analyzing phone records to determine the extent of communication between them and whether their cars may have been used to trail him.

What are the authorities saying about the investigation?

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen assured Kenyans that investigators are making progress.
“I am happy to note that the persons of interest have been identified. They are being interrogated, and so many others are going to be sorted. I am very interested in knowing what exactly happened in this situation, just like many Kenyans are, and also being in a position of responsibility,” Murkomen said.

The suspects were identified through witness accounts and communication data. Authorities remain confident that the investigation will uncover the full motive behind the killing. Murkomen also urged members of the public to share any information that could help bring the perpetrators to justice.
