A 16-year-old boy from Nyakiambi area in Molo, Nakuru County, has confessed to brutally killing his mother after a confrontation over the identity of his biological father turned violent.
What Led to the Tragic Incident in Molo?
According to a police report from Elburgon Police Station, the minor, identified only as AG, had confronted his mother on Friday afternoon around 1 p.m., demanding to know who his biological father was. When she refused to give him an answer, AG responded with deadly violence. Authorities say he struck her on the head multiple times, causing her death on the spot.
The teenager, who had dropped out of school in Form Three, allegedly acted alone and tried to cover up the crime. On Saturday, July 26, he reportedly dug a shallow grave in a separate house within the compound, intending to bury the body early the next morning.
How Was the Crime Discovered?
The shocking incident came to light on Sunday when the woman’s brother alerted police after finding her dead inside her home. Officers from Elburgon Police Station and the Molo Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) responded quickly to the scene, confirming the tragic death.
AG was arrested later the same day and taken into custody. The body of the deceased was transferred to Elburgon Level IV Hospital morgue, where it will undergo a postmortem examination.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the case to establish more details and assess the mental state of the suspect. Meanwhile, residents of Nyakiambi remain shaken by the disturbing nature of the crime, which has drawn national attention and reignited discussions around youth mental health and family conflicts.
