Weezdom Criticizes Bahati’s Cross-Dressing, Urges Him to “Return to God”

Kenyan gospel artist Weezdom has taken issue with fellow singer Kevin Bahati over his recent cross-dressing antics, stating that the behavior contradicts Bahati’s role as a mentor and influencer, particularly among young fans and families.

In a widely shared video, Bahati appears dressed in his wife Diana Marua’s orange crop top, tiny shorts, and high-heeled sandals. The outfit left little to the imagination and quickly stirred reactions online. However, Bahati’s decision wasn’t entirely unprovoked. According to the singer, it was a lighthearted response to Diana previously stepping out in his oversized T-shirt and shorts. He playfully questioned her shock, pointing out that she had done the same.

Why Did Bahati Wear Diana Marua’s Clothes?

Bahati has developed a reputation for occasionally wearing his wife’s clothes in the name of humor and content creation. While many fans see it as playful banter, some, including his former protégé Weezdom, have expressed concern. This particular video drew attention not just for the outfit, but for what it may imply coming from a figure who once held a strong position in Kenya’s gospel scene.

What Did Weezdom Say About Bahati’s Actions?

Posting on his Instagram Stories, Weezdom shared a direct message addressing Bahati’s conduct:
“Sometimes I look at the things my mentor, who taught me the word of God, does online and feel for him, as no other artist has influenced parents and kids like Bahati has. He should return to God and acknowledge that this was the purpose behind his breakthrough.”

Reactions online have been mixed. Some fans defended Bahati’s humorous approach, viewing it as harmless content between a couple. Others echoed Weezdom’s concerns, arguing that public figures with significant influence, especially those with a gospel background, should be more mindful of their actions.
