The city of Naples was buzzing with joy on Monday as thousands of Napoli fans turned out to celebrate their team’s Serie A title win. It was a moment filled with excitement and pride as the streets were covered in Napoli’s signature blue color, and fans cheered, danced, and waved flags during a parade that moved by both land and sea.
Napoli secured the Serie A title last Friday with a solid 2-0 victory at home against Cagliari. That win sparked wild celebrations across the city. Fireworks exploded in the sky, flares lit up the streets, and fans partied late into the night. But that was just the beginning.
On Monday, the team arrived at the Naples port aboard a ship carrying both the players and the championship trophy. Waiting for them were two open-top buses, ready to carry the champions through the streets so the city could properly celebrate this incredible moment. After the ride, the team returned to the ship to continue the celebrations well into the night.
This is Napoli’s second Serie A title in just three years, and the celebrations this time were even bigger since the last win didn’t include a parade due to restrictions. This year, almost a million people are believed to have flooded the streets to join in the joy.
One of the emotional highlights came from Romelu Lukaku, Napoli’s top scorer this season in Serie A. The Belgian forward, who also won the league with Inter Milan in 2021, was full of emotion as he looked out at the crowd.
“This means a lot. We worked hard for this, and I’m proud of the team and the coach. We never gave up. We deserved this,” Lukaku said during the parade.
