Mary Biketi, girlfriend to Cooperatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, has firmly denied rumors that she was dumped and left broke. Online speculation had intensified after claims that she had moved from her high-end Kileleshwa residence to Syokimau, sparking questions about her relationship and lifestyle.
What Sparked the Rumors About Mary Biketi and Oparanya?
The speculation gained momentum when blogger Edgar Obare hosted one of his popular anonymous Q&A sessions on Instagram. A fan alleged that Biketi and Oparanya ended their relationship in mid-2024 and that she was maintaining a “fake lifestyle” while clinging to his name for relevance. Others claimed that Oparanya had cut off all ties with her and that she was now financially strained.
One particular claim suggested she had downgraded her living situation, relocating from Kileleshwa to either Syokimau or Mlolongo. These allegations quickly spread across social media, fueling heated debates about her supposed fall from grace.

Mary Biketi’s Direct Response to Gossip
In a bold rebuttal, Biketi dismissed the rumors, cautioning people against spreading lies about her life. “Someone remind those two that I still reside in a beautiful leafy estate. I honestly can’t recall the last time I was in the areas they are talking about. While I am busy on real projects in Trans Nzoia, they choose to focus on gossip and misinformation. It is unfortunate, do better,” she wrote.
Her statement not only rejected the breakup rumors but also challenged suggestions that she was struggling financially. Biketi emphasized that she remains comfortable and committed to her personal projects.

Her fiery response, although later deleted, only deepened online conversations. Some fans applauded her confidence and praised her for addressing the gossip directly, while others remained skeptical about her relationship status with the CS.
Lilianbeki Oyaro commented: “Nobody is worth the explanation, it’s your life.”
Princess Sarah added, “Things fall apart.”
Elizabeth Achungo was critical: “Mkikatazwa kwa wazee wa watu hamsikii, do you think a married man has interest with a side chick…?”
Kevin Kaimenyi Kinoti wrote: “Rules of being a side chic. Hapana leta ujuaji na kiherehere mingi…”
Despite the criticism, others defended her, with one fan saying: “Aki achaneni na Mary Biketi… Why are people concerned na life ya watu wengine?”
Oparanya himself has openly acknowledged his polygamous lifestyle, revealing that he is content with his two wives, Priscillah and Caroline, and girlfriend Biketi. He once explained that after politics, he needed companionship and relaxation, which Biketi provided.
