A viral video has left Kenyans stunned after a light-skinned man was caught pretending to be a woman on the streets of Kasarani. Clad in a miniskirt, shirt, and long wig tied down with a black cloth, the man was filmed being escorted on a motorbike, sandwiched between two riders. The final destination is unclear, but many believe he was being taken to a police station.
The clip, shared by SPM Buzz on Instagram, instantly caught fire online. As the motorbike rode off, a voice in the background could be heard shouting,
“This habit should stop in Kasarani. Arrest her!”
The line alone has since become a meme in comment sections and group chats.
What exactly the man intended by dressing up is anyone’s guess. Some believe it was a prank gone too far. Others think it could have been a scam attempt. But the real debate online has been around whether what he did is even a crime.
Instagram users quickly jumped into the comment section to share their thoughts.
One user, Alicia, pointed out the strange moment when the rider behind seemed to bump awkwardly into the man, writing,
“No one is talking about how the second guy is hitting himself against his bomboms while sitting on the bike.”
Another, njeri_muhia, said, “Huyu amezoea kushikwa, it’s not the first time, just let him be now.”
Some questioned the logic behind the uproar.
“So what’s the crime, honestly?” asked ndologvng. Meanwhile, others took a humorous jab. “He took umama to the next level,” wrote Gavi.
While the man’s motives remain unclear, one comment stood out in summing up the mood. “Poverty is the enemy, I say,” Trizakamami declared.
