Kaluma Boy shared a heartfelt message on the unpredictability of life shortly after attending the burial of gospel singer Betty Bayo in Kiambu. The content came through a video on his TikTok page on Thursday, November 20, 2025, where he was seen outside a tent at Ndumberi Stadium interacting warmly with fans during the ceremony. His reflections captured both the emotional weight of the moment and the lessons he felt compelled to pass on.

As he spoke to his audience, he noted how death has increasingly taken people without warning, encouraging fans to embrace life fully and appreciate every moment. He drew inspiration from Betty Bayo’s own phrase, “11th hour,” which she used to describe the moment God intervenes, applying it to the suddenness with which life can change.

The clip also showed him reading excerpts from Betty’s eulogy while Tuzo Jeromini’s “Utupe Nguvu Baba” played in the background, a pairing that struck many of his viewers and sparked emotional reactions online. His tribute honoured both her influence and her contribution to gospel music, acknowledging that her imprint would last long beyond the ceremony. He wrote, “You also do not know your 11th hour. Betty Bayo, we shall celebrate your legacy,” a message that resonated deeply with his followers.

What Inspired Kaluma Boy’s Emotional Message?

Kaluma Boy was part of a large group of TikTok creators who travelled to Kiambu to pay their respects to the singer, who passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, after a short battle with acute myeloid leukaemia. The event gathered an impressive number of celebrities, particularly from the Kikuyu gospel community. Shiru Wa GP, Njoki Wa Ndegwa, Ngaruiya Junior, Loise Kim, and Elder David Kigomo were among the many artistes present to honour a woman whose songs shaped the industry for over twenty years.

The ceremony was held at Ndumberi Stadium and later moved to Betty’s home in Mugumo Estate for a private interment attended only by close friends and family. She was laid to rest at 6 pm, a moment marked with solemn respect for her life and ministry.

What Tribute Will Be Held in Betty Bayo’s Honour?

The burial was officiated by Bishop Michael Wanderi of the Christian Foundation Fellowship, where Betty had served faithfully. During the service, Bishop Wanderi announced plans for a large tribute concert, following requests from artistes who felt her career deserved an even broader celebration. He revealed, “Evangelist Wangunjiri received a very good revelation while we were still here, and she informed me and Bishop Mwangi Zakayo that, although we have eulogised and mourned Betty very well despite not being from the same church, they have decided that we hold one mega Kesha with all artistes at our CFF church on 5 December.”

The upcoming event is set to bring together musicians, fans, and the gospel community to honour her life, music, and enduring legacy.
