Juma Jux Prays for Peace and Healing in Tanzania After Post-Election Violence

Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has added his voice to the growing calls for peace and unity following the violent clashes that erupted across Tanzania after the country’s recent elections. Sharing a heartfelt message on his Instagram stories on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the artist expressed sorrow over the chaos and loss witnessed during the tense post-election period.

“Mungu ibariki Tanzania, praying for peace and healing. Mungu awatie nguvu na faraja waathirika wote,” Jux wrote, asking God to bless the country and comfort those affected by the violence. His words struck a chord with fans who have been urging artists and influencers to speak up as the situation in the country intensifies.

What’s happening in Tanzania after the Elections?

The unrest began soon after the October 29, 2025, general elections, which were marked by allegations of voter suppression and the exclusion of opposition leaders. What started as peaceful protests in Dar es Salaam quickly spread to other regions, with demonstrators demanding accountability and transparency from electoral officials.

In response, the government deployed the military and police, imposed curfews, and restricted internet access in several areas. Human rights organizations and opposition figures have reported that hundreds of people may have died during confrontations between protesters and security forces. Hospitals across multiple cities have treated dozens of civilians with gunshot injuries, while many others remain detained.

Despite the alarming reports, the government has denied using excessive force, maintaining that security officers acted lawfully to restore peace and order. However, limited media access and ongoing restrictions have made it difficult to verify the full scale of the violence.

Public Figures Call for Unity and Calm

Juma Jux’s message comes shortly after fellow superstar Diamond Platnumz shared his own prayer for peace, writing: “Inshaallah Mwenyezi Mungu atujaalie amani zaidi ya tuliyokuwa nayo mwanzo, atujaalie upendo zaidi, umoja, mshikamano, maendeleo na azilaze roho za waliotangulia mahala pema peponi. Amina.”

Both artists’ appeals follow growing criticism online, with many questioning why influential figures had remained silent while the country faced turmoil. Their recent messages have been widely shared, signaling a united call among Tanzanian celebrities to promote healing, solidarity, and calm.

As Tanzania continues to grapple with the aftermath of the elections, the voices of artists like Juma Jux and Diamond Platnumz are serving as a reminder that peace and unity remain the foundation of national progress. This message resonates deeply across the region.
