Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer says his team knows exactly how to “hurt” Paris Saint-Germain as they prepare for a high-stakes Champions League showdown in Paris on Tuesday. The veteran goalkeeper, now 39, expressed confidence that Bayern’s momentum and tactical readiness give them the edge against the reigning European champions.

PSG lifted the Champions League trophy last season after thrashing Inter Milan 5–0 at Bayern’s own Allianz Arena, but the Bavarian giants arrive at the Parc des Princes in unstoppable form. Bayern have won all 15 matches this season across competitions, a record-breaking start unmatched in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

Neuer, a two-time Champions League winner, said his side relishes facing PSG and will not be intimidated by the French champions. “We don’t have any fear,” he said. “We love to play against PSG and we’re playing to win.”

How does Bayern plan to stop PSG’s attack?

Neuer emphasized that Bayern’s approach is built around precision, focus, and capitalizing on PSG’s weaknesses. “We are both teams that like to have the ball, that’s well-known, and perhaps we don’t like to defend much,” he explained. “There will certainly be opportunities to counter-attack. You have to be wide awake for that, and also try to have a good defensive structure against these strong and fast opponents. That’s exactly how we want to hurt the Parisians.”

Bayern’s discipline and efficiency have been key to their winning streak. Under Vincent Kompany’s leadership, the team has found a balance between attacking brilliance and defensive stability, with Neuer playing a pivotal role in organizing play from the back.

At the same time, Harry Kane’s blistering form has powered Bayern’s dominance. The England captain has already netted 22 goals this season and has taken on more creative responsibilities, often dropping deep to assist in build-up play while still maintaining his goal-scoring touch.

What has changed in Harry Kane’s role this season?

Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany praised Kane’s tactical evolution and adaptability. “Harry’s understanding of the role has evolved,” Kompany said. “It’s a bit of a mix of creating the conditions for him to do what he does really well, but ensuring he is where he needs to be to score goals.”

He added that the 30-year-old striker’s maturity has made him a more complete forward. “Harry has a lot of experience and a good feeling for the game… Harry doesn’t have a very different role from last year, but he’s evolved in how he sees the role.”
