Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has officially crowned celebrated Ohangla artist Evans Ochieng Owino, popularly known as Prince Indah, as “Top Notch” following the release of his latest track, Nyasuba. The announcement, shared on her official Facebook account on Sunday, November 23, 2025, has set social media abuzz with fans praising both the musician and the cultural tribute.

Odhiambo revealed that while she had long admired Prince Indah’s talent, something had always felt missing. “I have always admired Prince Indah, but there has just been something missing for me to classify him as Top Notch. I have discovered it is because he had not dedicated a song to Nyasuba,” she explained. The MP emphasized that his dedication to Suba women in the new track fills a significant cultural gap, adding, “He is now officially Top Notch with Nyasuba. You cannot claim to be a serious musician without acknowledging us Suba beauties.”

How Are Fans Reacting to Prince Indah’s Nyasuba?

The declaration quickly went viral, garnering over 1,500 comments and more than 13,000 likes. Fans engaged in a playful debate on whether tribute songs elevate musicians to legendary status, with many praising Prince Indah for celebrating Suba identity in his music. For decades, the Ohangla industry has been predominantly Luo-centric, making this representation particularly significant.

Nyasuba is part of Prince Indah’s sixth album, Timeless Anthems, launched on November 8, 2025. The album is described as a symphony of enduring rhythms and heartfelt storytelling, capturing the essence of Ohangla music while honouring local culture. Since its release two weeks ago, Nyasuba has already amassed over 204,000 views on YouTube, signaling a warm reception from music lovers.

Why Nyasuba Solidifies Prince Indah’s Status

By highlighting Suba women and culture, Prince Indah’s track bridges a gap in the Ohangla scene while demonstrating his versatility as an artist. Odhiambo’s public endorsement underscores the song’s impact, positioning the musician not just as a performer but as a cultural ambassador. Fans and critics alike see Nyasuba as a defining moment in his career, cementing his place among Kenya’s top Ohangla icons.

With Nyasuba continuing to gain traction online and offline, Prince Indah’s recognition as “Top Notch” signals both artistic growth and a celebration of cultural pride.
