Entrepreneur and beauty mogul Huddah Monroe has shared a candid reflection on the struggles she faced in her early years, revealing how difficult it was to stay afloat when she had neither money nor a clear plan for her life. In a heartfelt post shared on Sunday, November 2, 2025, she described the intense financial pressure she endured, especially during the holiday seasons when rent and bills piled up.
“I know how it feels not to have a plan and no money. Kwanza holiday times, rent is looking at you, bills on bills, Wababaz all busy with family,” Huddah said. She recalled how overwhelming it was to face those moments alone, with little to no support and constant uncertainty about the future.
What challenges did Huddah face when she was younger?
Reflecting on her younger years, Huddah admitted that life was far from glamorous. She spoke openly about how her inexperience made her vulnerable to exploitation, particularly by older men who took advantage of her naivety. “Being young and naïve is fun, but very, very difficult and disappointing because people take advantage of you in a major way, especially older men,” she revealed.
She described that period as one filled with painful lessons and emotional setbacks. Despite the struggles, those experiences shaped her resilience and taught her the importance of self-reliance. “I wouldn’t want to be that young again. I’m happy where I am. Not fully figured out my life, but at least I don’t have to beg people for peanuts,” she shared.
How has Huddah turned her past struggles into success?
Today, Huddah stands as one of Kenya’s most successful beauty entrepreneurs. As the founder of Huddah Cosmetics, her brand has earned both local and international recognition for promoting boldness, confidence, and authenticity. Her current lifestyle, reflected across her social media platforms, showcases a woman who has built herself from the ground up, a stark contrast to her earlier struggles with rent and bills.
Through her reflection, Huddah reminded her followers that growth comes from persistence and painful lessons. Her journey from hardship to success continues to inspire young women to chase independence, embrace self-worth, and understand that true stability takes time, discipline, and courage.
