Musician Shalkido Ga Cucu’s family has announced that he will be laid to rest on October 16, days after the artist tragically lost his life in a road accident. The young musician, known for his vibrant energy and humble personality, passed away while receiving treatment after his motorbike was hit from behind on his way home.
When Will Shalkido Be Buried?
Speaking in an interview, a family representative confirmed the funeral details and expressed gratitude to fans and friends who have stood by them.
“His burial will be on October 16 next week; that is when we will be able to lay him to rest. The body will be moved from KU Funeral Home, not the one on Thika Road, the other one,” a relative said.
The family also addressed ongoing rumors suggesting foul play or sacrifice claims linked to his death. They firmly dismissed the allegations, emphasizing that Shalkido’s passing was purely an act of God.
“As a family, it’s God who has planned out how one’s life is going to be and end. There is nothing such as sacrifice. Let us let God’s plans roll out because these are some of the things we want to clear as a family. We believe in peace and that we will have a good send-off for our son, Shalkido,” they said.

Fans and fellow artists have continued to pour out emotional tributes on social media, expressing shock and sadness over his sudden death.
“Forever in our hearts 😢 shine on your way, champ,” wrote one fan. Another shared, “Family and friends, may the Almighty comfort you at this hard time.”
Public figures like Oga Obinna were among those who had previously supported Shalkido after he shared a plea for help online. Following the tragedy, Obinna spoke out to clear his name after a few online users attempted to link him to the artist’s death.
The loss of Shalkido has been deeply felt in Kenya’s entertainment space, with tributes flooding timelines from fans, fellow artists, and bloggers like Esther Baumbach, who revealed her final chat with the late musician.
