Maseno University Graduate and TikToker Loisa Naisoi Rita Dies After Long Illness

Kenyans are mourning the death of Loisa Naisoi Rita, a young Maasai woman, content creator, and Maseno University graduate who passed away after a long battle with meningitis and related complications. Her death comes only weeks after the Maasai community lost another rising TikTok star, Gracious Teiyan, adding to the grief felt across social media.

Who Was Loisa Naisoi Rita?

Loisa, aged 25, was known for her elegance, vibrant personality, and deep love for Maasai culture, often showcasing traditional attire in her videos. She graduated with a BSc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Maseno University and worked as an IT Officer at the Baptist Theological College in Limuru.

According to family and friends, she had been hospitalized at Aster Hospital in Parklands, where she had been in the ICU since September 20. Despite continuous treatment and prayers, she succumbed to the illness, leaving behind a grieving community and a substantial hospital bill.

Her friend Ezekiel Saitabau Kimani expressed his sorrow on Facebook, writing, “It is with deep sorrow that I have received the shocking news of my friend Rita Naisoi Loisa’s passing. Her departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew her. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her, and may she rest in peace.”

What Did Her Last Facebook Post Reveal?

Before her death, Loisa’s final Facebook post captured the attention of many for its powerful message to young Kenyans. “We don’t care about handouts or political drama or the noise. What matters is what leaders have done with the offices entrusted to them, roads built, schools established, social programs implemented,” she wrote. “Why are politicians always focused on the next election instead of showing us the results of their current work? Good leaders should be driven by passion for society and real impact, not just promises.”

Her words have since gone viral, with many describing them as prophetic and inspiring.

Following her passing, the family has appealed for help to settle her medical expenses through Lipa Na M-PESA Paybill Number: 8030102, Account Name: RITA LOISA HOSPITAL BILL as they prepare for her burial.

The Maa community has also been mourning Gracious Teiyan, another talented young creator who recently died in hospital. Citizen TV reporter Stephen Letoo led tributes for both women, celebrating their creativity and impact on the digital space.
