Shedrack Omondi Okindo, widely known on TikTok as Hon. Mosquito, has been arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after a video he posted online was flagged for incitement. The video, which went viral after being published on August 1, 2025, reportedly contained threats of violence directed at the government and President William Ruto.
What Did Hon. Mosquito Say in the Viral TikTok Video?
According to the DCI, the video triggered concern due to its confrontational tone and threatening remarks. In the footage, Okindo demanded the release of two detained members of a group known as Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI), Jackson Kimani, also known as Cop Shakur, and former Kenya Defence Forces officer Patrick Osoi.
“I warn you, Ruto, and I want you to listen to me very clearly. I have been warning you, but you are taking it as a joke, and this is the last warning. Release Patrick Osoi and Cop Shakur. There are so many comrades out there, you don’t know,” he said.
“We are tired and we will fight for our own. We are not Gen Zs, we are not civilians. Our ways are different from your way. Release those two comrades if you want peace. Ruto, you are going over, and we are not going to tolerate your nonsense.”

What Was Found During Okindo’s Arrest?
DCI officers traced Okindo to his hideout in the Miritini area of Mombasa County, where they conducted a raid. During the operation, they recovered two pairs of tactical combat fatigues, a notebook containing the phrase “We are going to apply guerrilla resistance tactics – Justice to all freedom heroes”, three mobile phones, assorted documents associated with the Justice Direction Party, and other materials.

Okindo is currently in custody as investigations continue. Authorities have confirmed he is undergoing processing and will be arraigned in court to face charges relating to incitement and threats to national security.
