Who Led Kenya to Victory Over Senegal?

Terry Tata, the Kenya Cup Most Valuable Player and team captain, was named Player of the Match. Her standout all-around performance powered the squad through their opener and set the tone for Kenya’s continental campaign. Head coach Jackline Barasa had expressed full confidence in the 19-year-old outside hitter, saying her leadership and talent would be key to the team’s performance during the August tournament.

How Are the Malkia Strikers Preparing for the FIVB World Championship?

As the U20s made their mark in Cameroon, the senior women’s team, Malkia Strikers, reported to residential camp at Summerdale Inn in preparation for the 2025 FIVB World Championship. The global tournament is scheduled to take place in Thailand from August 22 to September 7.

To sharpen the squad, the coaching staff dropped three players: Kenya Pipeline’s Loise Simiyu, Kenya Prisons’ Delphine Misoki, and KCB’s Pauline Chemutai. This brings the current training squad to 17, with the final 14-player roster set to be announced before departure to Vietnam on August 14.

Malkia Strikers will participate in an international friendly tournament in Vietnam from August 15 to 20. The matches will offer valuable preparation ahead of their World Championship campaign, where they’ve been placed in Group G alongside Germany, Poland, and host nation Vietnam. Kenya opens their tournament against Germany on August 23 at 1:00 PM EAT.
