Marya Okoth Weds Senior Government Official in Ugenya Months After Breaking Up with YY Comedian

Who Is Marya Okoth’s New Husband?
Actress Marya Okoth, the former partner of popular comedian YY, has officially tied the knot with a new man, just 11 months after their public separation. The traditional wedding took place in Ugenya, Siaya County, and social media users were quick to react with surprise and admiration as photos from the lavish event began circulating online.

Marya’s new husband is Okula Jack, a senior legal advisor to the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education. Despite keeping her relationship under wraps since parting ways with YY, Marya made her romantic comeback with a colourful and culturally rich ceremony. The celebrations were held on two separate dates: May 31 and August 3.

One of Jack’s close friends, David Ochola, shared heartfelt congratulations online, posting photos and praising the groom’s consistency and dedication. “We celebrate you, my brother Okula Jack. You have been such a dependable and high-ranking member within our KITCHEN circle. Love wins. Both events on May 31 and August 3 were top-notch. Full support system from us to the end,” he wrote.

The couple embraced tradition with matching beige attire. Marya was stunned in a leopard-print dress and feathered headpiece, while Jack wore a coordinated outfit. A video from the event showed the two singing SDA hymns in a church setting, confirming that the wedding included a religious ceremony as well.

How Did Fans React to Marya’s Wedding?
Online reactions ranged from awe to sharp opinions. “Ghaiii is my eyes seeing things, is that not Marya Okoth being taken….Kwisaaa,” wrote Abdikarim Hussein. Another user, Ajmal Ofweneke, added, “I’ll write a long congratulatory message to Okula Jack tomorrow, I’ll explain how we met at Obado’s place, even though I wasn’t his supporter. Congratulations, Jack Wuod Suna.”

Others like Philbert Aganyo shared, “Big Blessings and Congratulations to Okula Jack and Marya. Pleasant surprise!” and Adisa Epines chimed in: “Ako sawa kabisa, I remember when YY moved on immediately. Sons of Pharaoh supported him. Anyway, congratulations to her.”

Meanwhile, the City Girls page stirred some debate by posting: “A rebound made to make our comedian feel the pain. Sarah Kabu did the same. The truth is, no Wakili can marry a single mother.”

YY had earlier confirmed their breakup on September 6, 2024. While he moved on briefly with Noela Toywa, their relationship ended within four months. Rumours of their split gained traction after YY failed to publicly acknowledge Noela’s birthday on Christmas Day.
