Mugithi star and police officer Samidoh, born Samuel Muchoki, has addressed growing concerns surrounding his redeployment and the active arrest warrant issued against him. The singer, who has recently been caught in a storm of disciplinary allegations, clarified his stance during a recent interview after returning briefly to Kenya.
Why Was Samidoh Redeployed?
The controversy began when Samidoh joined fans in chanting “wantam” during a performance, a popular phrase used by opposition supporters critical of President William Ruto. The chant was interpreted by top officials at Jogoo House as a breach of police standing orders that require officers to remain neutral and apolitical.
In response, Samidoh was ordered to report to a new posting in Gilgil. Authorities allege that he extended his leave without proper authorization and later deserted the post altogether, which led to an arrest warrant being issued on the grounds of insubordination.

Will Samidoh Report to Gilgil?
In an interview with Kikuyu content creator Kururia, Samidoh addressed the issue directly. He was clear that he had no intention of resigning from the police service, but remained undecided about honouring the redeployment.
“About me going to Baringo, I have taken a step back and I am now discussing with my family, my clan, and even the broader community to know how they feel about it. If they say that I should go, then I will go. If they say that I should not go, then I will not go because I work for them,” he said.
Samidoh emphasized that his decisions are influenced by those close to him, highlighting how personal and community ties weigh heavily on his final move.
