Chelsea have made football history in a thrilling UEFA Conference League final held in Wroclaw, Poland. The Premier League giants bounced back from an early setback to beat Spanish side Real Betis 4-1. This victory not only handed Chelsea their first trophy under new ownership but also made them the first club ever to win all four major UEFA competitions.
The journey to this historic win wasn’t easy. Real Betis, managed by the experienced Manuel Pellegrini, stunned the Blues early on. Abde Ezzalzouli opened the scoring in the ninth minute after a quick break, firing a low left-footed shot past Chelsea keeper Filip Jorgensen. Betis kept pushing and came close again, but the Chelsea defense managed to hold on.
In the first half, Chelsea dominated possession but lacked a cutting edge. Betis, led by former Real Madrid star Isco, were sharp and organized. Chelsea’s coach, Enzo Maresca, had to rethink things during the break, and his changes made a big difference.

Captain Reece James came on for Malo Gusto at the start of the second half, and Chelsea immediately looked more confident. The turning point came in the 65th minute. Cole Palmer, who was electric throughout the match, delivered a perfect cross for Enzo Fernandez to head home and level the score.
Just five minutes later, Palmer was at it again, this time dancing past defenders and setting up Nicolas Jackson, whose chest redirected the ball into the net. From that moment on, Chelsea took control.
Jadon Sancho, coming off the bench, scored Chelsea’s third in the 83rd minute with a smart finish from a tight angle. And in the final minutes, Moises Caicedo sealed the deal with a fourth goal, capping off an unforgettable night for Chelsea fans.

It’s their first piece of silverware since American billionaire Todd Boehly bought the team from Roman Abramovich in 2022. Chelsea’s latest triumph also ends a long-running Spanish streak in European men’s finals. Before this game, Spanish teams had won all 27 finals they appeared in, a record now broken by the Blues.
Chelsea now stands alone at the top of European football history. With Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup, and now the Conference League titles in their cabinet, no other club has done what Chelsea just achieved.
