A dramatic scene unfolded in Garissa County when Jarajila Ward MCA Noor Farah was caught on CCTV brandishing a knife and chasing terrified customers inside a local restaurant. The footage, now widely circulated online, has left many questioning the MCA’s conduct and fitness to hold office.
The incident took place at Albeik Hotel, where the MCA is seen storming in behind a group of panicked women. The clip begins with the women dashing into the restaurant, with Farah close behind them holding a knife. Chaos erupts as he chases them around tables, through the dining area, and into the kitchen.
The restaurant quickly descends into panic as patrons scramble to escape. A near-stampede unfolds at the entrance as people rush out to avoid potential harm.
Although the video runs for just under three minutes, it captures a series of disturbing actions, including Farah throwing chairs and moving aggressively through the premises.
In a bizarre twist, after tossing the chairs, the MCA appears to mimic military behavior, marching and even saluting people in the kitchen before finally walking out of view. Throughout the ordeal, he continues to clutch the knife.
Garissa sub-county police commander Samwel Boit confirmed the incident and announced that investigations are underway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and authorities are now reviewing the evidence to determine the next steps.
The footage has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for accountability among elected leaders. Many Kenyans on social media are demanding disciplinary action and questioning why an elected representative would resort to such threatening behavior in public.
As investigations continue, pressure is mounting on both local authorities and political leadership to address the incident swiftly and transparently. Whether legal action or disciplinary measures will follow remains to be seen.
