Fiorentina have reached an agreement to sign veteran striker Edin Džeko from Turkish side Fenerbahçe. The deal includes a one-year contract with an option to extend until June 2027. Džeko is expected to earn a net salary of between €1.5 and €1.8 million per season.

The 38-year-old Bosnian forward brings decades of experience to Fiorentina’s front line. Known for his aerial dominance, sharp finishing, and ability to lead the attack, Džeko has played at the highest levels of European football. His career includes standout spells at Manchester City, AS Roma, Inter Milan, and most recently, Fenerbahçe.

At Manchester City, Džeko was a key part of the squad that won the Premier League title in the 2011–2012 and 2013–2014 seasons. He scored crucial goals, including in City’s legendary title-winning comeback against QPR in 2012. During his time at Roma, he became one of Serie A’s top scorers, consistently delivering goals and earning the captain’s armband.

His move to Inter Milan saw more silverware, including winning the Serie A title in the 2020–2021 season and helping the club reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2023. Most recently, at Fenerbahçe, Džeko continued his scoring form and proved he still can make an impact in top-flight football.

Fiorentina’s signing of Džeko is part of a broader project for the 2025–2026 season, which is also expected to see former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli take over as head coach. The club aims to build a competitive side around experienced leadership and proven talent as they prepare for domestic and European challenges ahead.
