Zubimendi Has Agreed to Join Arsenal

Martín Zubimendi is set to become Arsenal’s latest midfield addition after reaching a full agreement with the club. The deal has been in place since May, and all terms are finalized. The Spanish international will undergo medical tests and sign his contract in the coming weeks. Real Sociedad will receive a transfer fee of around €65 million, paid in installments, as part of the negotiated package.

Zubimendi, 25, has built a strong reputation in La Liga as one of the most intelligent and composed holding midfielders. Known for his calm presence under pressure, sharp positioning, and precise passing, he has been a key figure in Real Sociedad’s rise in recent seasons. His tactical awareness and work rate make him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s system, which values structure and control in the midfield.

At Sociedad, Zubimendi helped the club win the Copa Del Rey in 2020, their first major trophy in over three decades. He has also been a regular in Spain’s national setup, representing the country in the U21 European Championship and earning call-ups to the senior team.

Despite speculation linking him to Real Madrid, Arsenal remained in full control of the transfer and never wavered in their pursuit. Zubimendi is expected to strengthen Arsenal’s midfield depth and provide a long-term solution in the holding role, easing the burden on players like Declan Rice and Jorginho.
