Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor is in serious legal trouble after being arrested in Polk County, Florida, during a human trafficking sting operation. The incident has sparked outrage, not just for the charges involved, but for the shocking detail that he left his six-year-old son, who has medical issues, alone in a locked vehicle while trying to solicit sex.
According to reports from TMZ, Taylor was caught in a week-long undercover operation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, nicknamed “Fool Around and Find Out.”
Officers had posted decoy escort ads online to catch suspects looking to buy sex. Taylor responded to one of those ads and showed up at what he thought was a hotel room.
Once inside, he reportedly discussed sexual services with an undercover female officer, then left the room. Waiting officers arrested him almost immediately. What they didn’t expect to find was his child alone in his parked truck outside. Taylor had said nothing about the child during the entire process.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd didn’t hold back in his reaction. During a press conference, he called Taylor’s actions beyond reckless, suggesting that perhaps too many tackles had scrambled the ex-player’s judgment. Sheriff Judd confirmed that Taylor was hit with a child neglect charge in addition to soliciting prostitution.

Taylor, 33, has had stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, and Carolina Panthers. His last known professional appearance was with the Calgary Stampeders in Canada. Now, instead of being remembered for his time on the field, he’s facing a different kind of spotlight, one that involves felony charges and a shattered public image.
Authorities handed him over to his mother, and he is reportedly doing well. Taylor, on the other hand, is expected to appear in court on June 10.
This case is part of a wider crackdown that led to over 250 arrests. Law enforcement also rescued four potential victims of human trafficking during the operation. As of now, Taylor has not made any public statement.
