The Kenya National Examinations Council has released a clear guide on how candidates can access the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education results online following the official announcement by the Education Cabinet Secretary. The process is fully digital this year, marking a continued shift toward centralized and controlled access to national examination results.
KNEC has confirmed that KCSE results will only be available through its official website. Candidates are required to log in using their examination details, and the council has stressed that no alternative platforms will be used to publish the results. This approach is meant to safeguard data accuracy, limit misinformation, and ensure that all candidates receive verified results.
In its communication, KNEC also clarified that any concerns, corrections, or result-related issues must follow a formal process. All queries must be submitted through the heads of institutions within a strict timeline. According to the council, delays beyond the stipulated period will attract additional charges, reinforcing the importance of early verification by schools and candidates.
How can candidates access KCSE results online step by step?
Candidates are required to follow a simple process outlined by KNEC to access their results. The first step is visiting the official KCSE results portal at https://results.knec.ac.ke or accessing the KNEC website and selecting the KCSE Results option. Once on the platform, candidates must enter the correct index number and at least one registered name as used during registration.
After entering the required details, candidates are prompted to accept the privacy and access notice. This step is mandatory and ensures compliance with data protection guidelines. Once accepted, candidates can proceed to search for their results, which are displayed instantly if the details are correctly entered.
KNEC reiterated its position on result inquiries by stating, “All results-related queries must be lodged through the heads of institutions within 30 days after the release of results. Queries lodged after 30 days will attract a fee. Congratulations to all the candidates!” The council also reaffirmed its mandate by adding, “KNEC is committed to Quality Educational Assessment and Credible Certification in the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).”
