Mosiria Rescues Homeless Man in Nairobi While Seeking Help to Reunite Him With Family

Geoffrey Mosiria, the head of the Citizen Engagement and Customer Care Department in Nairobi County, is appealing to the public to help reconnect a homeless man with his family in Western Kenya. He shared the situation in a heartfelt post on December 9, 2025, after meeting the man, who has been sleeping near the Kenya Power offices in the Nairobi CBD. Mosiria noted that the man appears to be facing mental health challenges that require immediate attention, and he emphasized his commitment to ensuring the man receives proper support.

“Tonight, I met a man in the CBD who normally sleeps next to the Kenya Power offices. He was on the street and appears to be experiencing mental health challenges that require urgent medical attention,” Mosiria wrote. He then appealed to the public, adding, “If anyone recognises him or knows his family, especially from Western Kenya, kindly reach out so that we may help reunite him with his loved ones.”

To ensure the man receives adequate care, Mosiria revealed his plan to take him to Mathari Mental Hospital for treatment. His intention is to provide the man with the support he needs while also working toward reconnecting him with his family.

Why did the man travel to Nairobi?

During their conversation, the man explained the personal mission that led him to travel from Western Kenya to the capital. According to him, his journey was fueled by curiosity and a desire to conduct research on President William Ruto. “Nilikuja nikiwa nasikia ati William Ruto anatangaza mama care nikamu research nilikuwa nafanya research about the president Dr William Ruto,” he said.

He went on to explain that his research focused on the president’s statements about uniting East Africa and Africa. As a trailer driver at the time, he said the nature of his work allowed him the space to explore these ideas more deeply. “Nili research alikuwa anasema mambo ya ata unite East Africa and the whole of Africa, alafu mimi nikafanya research kwa sababu nilikuwa naendesha trailer,” he added.

How long has he been living on the streets?

The man revealed that he has been staying on the streets of Nairobi for the past five months as he attempted to pursue his research goals. “Nimekaa hapa miezi mitano nyumbani ni Western,” he disclosed.

Mosiria’s efforts now aim to provide him with medical care, safety and a path back to his family, while calling on Kenyans to assist in identifying and reconnecting the man with his loved ones.
