Diana Marua addressed her son Morgan’s emotional reaction after his phone number was leaked by someone he trusted. In a video shared on her YouTube channel on Thursday, November 27, 2025, she encouraged him to recognise how easily anger can escalate situations and lead to actions that are difficult to undo. She reminded him that having a private number shared without permission is a common issue, but handling it calmly protects both dignity and relationships.
How Does Anger Affect Decisions and Reactions?
Diana explained to Morgan that reacting out of anger can push someone to make choices they later regret. “You could do something, and then you regret it. In that process of trying to handle a situation out of anger, you might do something that could cost you something you never imagined could happen, all in the snap of a finger,” Diana said.
She shared her own experiences with anger, saying she has also acted impulsively before realising her emotions clouded her judgment. According to her, aggressive reactions tend to alter how others see a person, and repairing that damage becomes much harder. “I have done so many regrettable things when I am angry because I have also been working on self-control over the years. What happens later is that I sit down and ask myself, ‘Why did it get to this point? This is someone I love, or this is something I treasure. Why did I let this get out of hand?’ I usually start there,” she said.
Diana noted that anger can make someone lash out even at people they care about or at things they value. She told Morgan that self-control is not just about appearing calm in public, but about protecting relationships and maintaining composure. “People always see you differently after such reactions, and you end up wanting to correct things to prove that you acted out of anger, but it won’t help. So, Morgan, I need you to have self-control,” she added.
What Exactly Happened When Morgan’s Number Was Leaked?
Morgan opened up about the incident that left him embarrassed. He explained that he had trusted someone with his private number and clearly instructed them not to share it. “So, there is this person; he knows himself, I won’t mention him, and I had told him, because of security reasons, not to give my phone number to anyone without asking me first,” he said.
Despite this, he woke up one morning to an overwhelming number of messages and calls from unknown people. “But one morning I woke up and found that many people were texting me, and many numbers were DMing me. My number had been leaked, and some people were asking questions while others were just saying hi. I did not enjoy that. It did not sit well with me,” he added.
Frustrated, he confronted the person who leaked the number, and their conversation escalated quickly. While still upset, the same person added him to another WhatsApp group. Morgan assumed it was another random group and responded harshly without checking. Moments later, he realised the group was actually a school parents’ group, and all the adults had seen his emotional outburst.
“I confronted the person who gave out my number, and I was angry. Instead of taking the right decision, it resulted in a situation where we were exchanging words. Then, in that process, while I was filled with so much anger, the person who had leaked my number added me to another public group. I got even angrier, and little did I know it was a school group, and all the parents were there. So all the parents were seeing what I was writing and how I was lashing out,” he said.
He said the realisation overwhelmed him, and when his parents later asked about the incident, he had no explanation. “My parents later questioned me, and I didn’t have an explanation,” he added.
