This celebration followed months after Diana opened up about her motherhood journey in another family moment. In August 2025, she took her son, Majesty Bahat, on a special retreat to a wildlife lodge for his sixth birthday. The family spent the day exploring nature, enjoying quality time, and reflecting on how far they had come as a unit.
During the retreat, Diana shared emotional memories about her own childhood and the challenges she faced growing up. She wanted her children to understand how different her upbringing was from the comfortable life they experience today. “Unlike you kids, I used to fetch water in a well with a mtungi, and then I put it on my back. A jerrycan, if you do not understand what ‘mtungi’ means. And then I would go to wash utensils, and I would put water in a basin and clean in the other, and it was hard. So, guys, we are enjoying ourselves here in this lodge,” she said.
The day also included lighthearted moments, such as a playful disagreement between Bahati and their son, Morgan, over the name of a bird they had spotted at a nearby lake. Even as everyone laughed, Diana used the experience to remind her children about gratitude, humility, and resilience. She encouraged them to remain grounded despite the privileges they enjoy.

The birthday celebration for Malaika came shortly after Diana responded to the public’s mixed reactions to a viral video featuring Morgan.
