Kibuye Market chairlady Judith Matengo, widely known as Nyaramba, has been arrested by police in Kisumu Central Sub-county following a viral video showing her assaulting two female traders with a wooden rod. The footage, which circulated widely on social media, sparked immediate public outrage.

Matengo was apprehended on Monday night while attempting to hide within the market premises. Authorities confirmed that the victims, Mercy Okoth and Rozette Adhiambo, have already recorded their statements with the police. Both women sustained soft-tissue injuries in the broad-daylight incident and sought medical attention at Lumumba Sub-county Hospital.
