Stand-up comedian and media personality Steve Thompson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, recently addressed advances from an 18-year-old fan, making it clear that he prefers dating single mothers. The incident unfolded after the young admirer, Shaline, approached him directly on Instagram following a public display of affection in Kakamega, where she carried a placard professing her love for him and even offered to give him a set of twins.

How Oga Obinna Responded to His Young Admirer

Shaline first messaged Obinna, introducing herself with her photo holding the placard. “Hello, good evening, I’m Shaline. The one on that postcard,” she wrote. Obinna politely declined, emphasizing her age and his preference for older women with children. “Hi, saw the post. Much appreciated, but can’t work. You is a child. I prefer single mothers around 24 years, infinity 18 is too young,” he responded.

He further offered advice about focusing on the future instead of love and children at such a young age. “Also, at 18, what are you doing thinking of children, focus, Shaline. You will think of me in 6 years when you will remember this text,” he added. Shaline expressed a desire to meet him in person, saying, “It’s okay, no problem. Though I really desire to meet you and greet you in person. I really wanted to meet you in person, even if it’s public. I just say hi or maybe take a picture together.”

Oga Obinna responded with fatherly guidance, advising her not to publicly share her phone number and assuring her they would meet someday. “One day we shall meet, we shall eventually. Also don’t post your number like that on cards. Now you have to get rid of that,” he said, after which he blocked her to end the conversation.

Oga Obinna’s Message to Single Mothers

Adding humor to his advice, Oga Obinna playfully warned single mothers against approaching him with love confessions. “Sasa nani amempa namba yawa. Team mafisi wale wako hapa aki kawacheni kagrow, bado ni katoto Ma Single Matha msinijaribu lakini,” he joked, reinforcing that his romantic preferences lean toward more mature women who already have children.

Through his response, Oga Obinna combined humor, honesty, and mentorship, reminding young fans of the importance of patience, focus, and maturity in relationships. His approach highlights a careful balance of engaging with fans while setting personal boundaries, showing that public figures can address admirers with respect and clarity.
