Rashid Abdalla Sparks Reactions after Claiming Everyone Lies to Get Married

Citizen TV anchor Rashid Abdalla has set social media abuzz after boldly claiming that everyone lies at some point to get married. His remarks, made during a live broadcast with his wife and co-anchor Lulu Hassan, stirred both laughter and debate among viewers across Kenya.

What Did Rashid Abdalla Say About Marriage?

During the show, Rashid shared a light moment from his early days of dating Lulu. He recalled how she once took him out for dinner at an Indian restaurant. After the meal, he suffered a bad stomach ache but chose not to tell her the truth to avoid hurting her feelings. “If you are a very truthful person, you will not get married or marry. You have to lie either in your words or actions. Someone can tell you about someone else and say they were just classmates, while in reality, they were lovers, just to avoid upsetting you,” he explained.

Lulu playfully asked whether Rashid had ever lied to her during their courtship, but the journalist quickly dodged the question, leaving the audience amused. Rashid went further to offer relationship advice that many found controversial. He suggested that women should not marry men who dislike being around women, arguing that only a man who appreciates women can recognize the one who is right for him.

The conversation quickly gained traction online, with many Kenyans sharing their thoughts about honesty and relationships. Some praised Rashid for his honesty and humor, while others criticized his remarks as misleading.

How Did Kenyans React to Rashid Abdalla’s Remarks?

Social media users flooded the comment sections with mixed opinions. Adija Wa Ken teased, “Unauliza pia nabado unadanganywa.” Hamza Karisa wrote, “Kwa ivo wewe uliwahi danganya? Hapa aliruka swali Rashid wewe.” Thomas Imboka added, “These couples are strong in character.”

Others found Rashid’s comments relatable and funny. Morris Limo said, “Ashasema ni lazima kudanganya so usingojee tena jibu hapo.” Anjeline Onyango remarked, “Rashid si ni binadamu so alishawahi danganya.” Vincent Onyango Samuel agreed, writing, “Rashidi amelenga🫡 sababu Lulu alidanganya pia.”

Despite the divided opinions, many admired the couple’s ability to blend humor and real talk on national television. The exchange reflected not only their chemistry but also how open conversations about relationships can spark wider public debate on love, truth, and marriage.

Rashid and Lulu continue to stand out as one of Kenya’s most admired media couples, known for their charm, teamwork, and ability to turn even lighthearted moments into meaningful discussions about everyday life and relationships.
