Police in Narok are investigating the shocking murder of a 10-year-old boy at the Seventh Day Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School. The Grade Four pupil was found dead inside the boys’ toilet on Sunday morning with his throat slit, sparking outrage among parents and residents. Blood stains covered the floor, and tension quickly escalated as angry locals attempted to set the school ablaze before being restrained.
Who Has Been Arrested in Connection With the Case?
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested the school’s security guard after he was allegedly found wearing blood-stained clothes. He is currently being held to assist with investigations. The arrest has fueled speculation, though police have yet to confirm whether he will be charged.
How Did the Community React to the Incident?
Residents expressed deep shock, describing the killing as both horrifying and unacceptable.
“Ni kisa cha kusikitisha sana kuona mtoto kama huyo anauawa kinyama ndani ya shule,” said Hassan Ngatia, a resident of Majengo.
Another resident, Veronica Namunyak, added: “Tunataka kujua nani anauwa mtoto hapa ndani. Mtoto wa Class Four sasa anajua nini?”
Neighbor Mbugua wa Thiki also voiced fear, saying, “Tumeshangaa usiku mzima hatukusikia hata nduru. Tuko na hofu kama wazazi.”
What Action Has Been Taken Against the School?
In response, the Narok County Education Department ordered the immediate closure of the institution and directed parents to withdraw their children. Residents are now demanding urgent reforms to improve safety.
“Baada ya shule hii kufungwa, tunataka mabadiliko, security lights, na hatutaki boarding school hapa tena,” said Douglas Masikonte.
